Britannia Movers handled my shipment of household goods & treasures from Houston, Texas to Nottinghamshire, England. From the start, Janine was communicative and reassuring! Rich Halas, their representative also made the paperwork process VERY easy! They provided us step-by-step support!! The delivery crew was also in contact with us prior to and during delivery. They arrived on time, were patient as I checked off each item as they unloaded, which was particularly challenging as the items had not been marked or packed very clearly on the Dallas side of things I have moved internationally before, and this by far was the best all around service I have ever had!! HIGHLY recommend!!

Beware! Britannia shipped my plates with high sentimental value (they belonged to my late grandmother) from UK to NZ. Although the contents were breakable, the only thing on the box that warned a handler to take care was the contents list on the top of the box. Unsurprisingly, somewhere between Leicestershire, storage, shipping, arrival in NZ and transport to our house, the box was moved in a way that broke a third of the plates. If you're comfortable that due care includes the expectation that in every step of the way, each box is carefully lifted down, the contents read and then the handler can decide how to handle the box, go for it! If you think this is an accident waiting to happen, don't.

Devolved responsibility for badly packed and marked fragile items , resulting in damage to heirloom grandfather clock . The clock was packed in singular layer of bubble wrap and no protection afforded to glass front resulting in totally ruined front panel . Despite obvious sub standard care for a fragile item movers are disinterested in even meeting half way on repair cost or accepting any responsibility . If you’re only moving non fragile items the service was good but let down but this oversight to protect a fragile item

We moved from Abu Dhabi back to Plymouth, UK and Britannia were just faultless. Great communication and answered all queries about delivery. Original delivery date wasn't possible due to my work and Britannia found an alternative without a problem. Thank you Kali and the Ops team. Available on the phone, which was a godsend, in addition to email. The delivery was all done in 2 hours - an awesome job done by the crew and everything in its place and even furniture built. Thank you.

The care and attention given by the whole team throughout our move, especially by Jordan, was absolutely brilliant.

Moving house is always a stressful time, and mum was very anxious and overwhelmed about the whole thing.

Jordan took time to connect with mum and put her at ease. I couldn’t believe he actually kept her smiling and even laughing, throughout the whole thing.

Nothing was too much trouble for all of the team. They were courteous, helpful and respectful to mum. Whenever I asked for something to be done, it was dealt with. I quickly felt I could trust them to remember what was needed to go where and how we wanted things done.

They managed to move all the furniture and mums precious items so smoothly, I really don’t know how they managed it.

Special thanks to Jordan, who both mum and I felt went the extra mile to make it as easy and stress-free as possible for us.

I can honestly say this was the best level of service I have ever received, completely exceeding my expectations

I was moving part furniture to my daughter's and the rest in storage.
The men ran out of paper the first day so went home early. When I started to unpack boxes we found no description of contents and my fridge contents were in a box with DAD'S &CD'S and photo's. T V was not protected or my leather settee. They had used my linen jacket as packing and had put my smaller TV in a box with a large tin which scratched the screen, as before with no protection. When I rang and spoke to the managing director, he was unconcerned and said his men were very good at their job but this one chap was certainly not and later we found some of my pictures just put in a box with nothing round them and no protection on the Base. I was charged too much much for a lazy job and was rushed. I am so angry with the company, they just couldn't care less.

I moved from Brighton to Houston and have found this removal company to be the absolute worst. Many items broken, the people that delivered my items were not qualified to move someone.

Many items of furniture just destroyed.

Even though complained the Directors were supposed to come back to me, nothing!

Find someone else to do your move, these people are absolutely useless.

We recently chose Britannia for our international move following extensive meetings with a few international removals' companies. Criteria was price and service options.

Initially we had a delivery date missed, however the Britannia team moved speedily to expedite our household furnishing delivery on a faster route and ship.

Britannia team, kept in correspondence with us throughout this process and I am very pleased for their honesty, sincerity and going the extra mile to help us.

AVOID AVOID AVOID the Leatherburrows Branch in Chrischurch,All rip off merchants !! From the estimator (Robin Johnston) to the General manager (Richard Fisher) to accounts (Andrew Pittwood) all the way through to the MD (Robert Dance)

As can be seen on previous reviews!! Final invoice is double the estimate !!

I got 3 different companies to send out estimators to our house to come and calculate volumes and give as an estimate to store our houses content for 4 years.

Quote 1 was £1200 per year (Nowstorage)

Leatherburrows Quote was £1400 per year

Quote 3 was £1800 per year

We took leatherburrows quote as we were taught you don’t take the cheapest quote and you don’t take the most expensive, in the middle should be a balance between cost and value.

When all our stuff was packed and taken away we received an invoice that equated to £2800 per year.

When questioning the invoice vs the estimate as to why it was double ??!! The response was, “sorry, we supplied an ESTIMATE which you SIGNED and unfortunately there was more stuff in your house than we culculated for (they said their estimator had 30 years experience estimating). “We are willing to reduce the rate slightly as a goodwill gesture ! And if you are not willing to pay these rates (£2400 per year) then you would need to come collect your stuff as we can’t be held accountable for an ESTIMATE.

Bearing in mind I had already paid Leatherbarrows a separate fee to pack and collect my houses content. I now had to pay another company to go and collect my houses content from leatherburrows and take it to the new storage company in quote 1 which stood by their quote of £1200 for the exact same content leatherburrows we’re trying to charge me £2800 for.

To which I responded “No thank you I will have my stuff taken away and stored somewhere else”

When I told Richard Fischer (General manager) I was having my stuff taken away he became very unhelpful. Not responding to emails, not responding to the Newly instructed removal company’s emails especially after arranging with Richard that he would communicate with them in order to make the process efficient and to get my goods out of their way as quick as possible.

As a last resort we had to contact London Head office ( Britannia Movers) to intervene and get Richard and his team to release the storage container numbers and information via email so that the new removals company could go and collect my goods.

I could not believe to what extent Richard and his team went to try and rip me off, fortunately I had the money to pay another removals company to go and collect and store my goods as I was told by Richard that if I don’t collect my goods they would just carry on charging me at the new rate which was double the estimated rate.

This company and their staff do everything possible to get your business and then when they have it they double the rates and in some cases as you can see on the other reviews triple them !!

I tried to find out from Robert Dance who is the managing director of that branch how this business relationship went so horribly wrong. And his response was “Richard is dealing with you, I am not interested, you are not willing to pay our prices and have decided to take your goods away. Robert did not want to answer any questions to why the final price was double the original quote, it was as if he was dealing with this sort of problem on a daily bases.

Don’t go anywhere near this company! Not for removals, not for storage, not for anything !!

As our move progressed through the stages of packing, loading and unloading it became clear the company has one main aim, its profit margin. Two men who were already tired unpacked the whole truck and trailer in a hurry in one day working over 12 hours. They did not even stop for lunch. Obviously the men were too exhausted and should have taken two days to do this amount of work. The result was added stress for us during our home move and numerous damages which I have just realised has to be claimed within seven days of delivery. This period is not a reasonable time frame to fully unpack after moving from a large six bedroom house and submit a claim.
